Field electro-physical methods are suitable for the assessment of the mosaic patern and anisotropy of forest soils. The role of the type of biogeocenosis, its parcel structure, windfalls and slash in their formation is considered.
The anisotropy of forest soils is easily assessed through the calculation of the coefficient of anisotropy.
The coefficients of anisotropy for the soils under Piceetum pilosocaricosum changed from 0.5 to 1.5 and that of the parent rock reached 2 or 3. For the isotropic soils, for instance for agropeat soils, this coefficient was close to 1, i.e. these soils are homogenous and isotropic.
